Tallahassee, FL – Attorney Andrew Weinstein of the Weinstein Law Firm has been appointed to Small Claims Rules Committee of The Florida Bar for 2008. The president-elect of the bar appoints members to the committee.
“I am honored to be appointed to The Florida Bar Small Claims Rules Committee,” Mr. Weinstein said. “It is important for attorneys to take part in the creation and amendment of the rules that govern our clients' cases.”
The role of the committee is to write and amend rules that are submitted to the Florida Supreme Court for review and approval. Once approved, the Small claims rules govern all cases and controversies involving amounts less than $5,000 – cases that include the majority of PIP claims.
Mr. Weinstein will begin this term on July 1, 2008. The Florida Bar has more than 84,000 members and is the statewide professional and regulatory organization for lawyers.
